This is a 1935 first run Seattle Quilt Manufacturing ( pre “Comfy” ), made Goose down Parka in extraordinary condition.
It has many design features we love.
The half satin lining, spring loaded chunky crown zip, quilted, mouton collar , tapered fit and incredible quality down.
This is a remarkable piece of history from the early 30s.
Seattle Quilt was perhaps the first company to create a true down sleeping bag in about 1920.
“Comfy” — this was a brand name officially registered for use by Seattle Quilt in 1936, about 20 years after the founding of Seattle Quilt.
Soon after this, this jacket model had the “comfy” label.
To say this is rare, especially in this condition, would be an understatement.
If you love epic vintage workwear and mountaineering as we do, this is a great historical piece.
